A small box that detects TV commercials, cuts the sound, and brings it back after the commercial ends.

  1. Mutebox starts detecting commercials. The green light illuminates when it hasn't detected a commercial.
  2. Once it detects a commercial, it switches to red as it mutes your sound system.
  3. When the commercial ends, the sound is restored, and Mutebox goes back to detection.

Questions, answered

Is it just for sports?

Not at all. Mutebox is for anything with commercials, especially what you watch live, when you can't skip them. That means sports, but also cable news, award shows, and whatever else is on.

Does it require internet?

No. Mutebox works without Wi-Fi or internet and can detect commercials on its own. Connecting it is optional, but it makes detection better and lets you receive firmware updates.

How much will it cost?

We expect retail pricing around $199. Everyone on the waitlist gets early bird pricing when we launch.
